NJSLA Testing
The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) has implemented changes to New Jersey’s statewide assessment practices effective as of the spring 2019 administration. While the online platform will remain the same, the state’s mathematics and English language Arts (ELA) assessments will no longer be named Partnership for Assessment of College and Career Readiness (PARCC). Instead, the assessments will be called New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA). The ELA assessment will be named NJSLA-ELA, and the mathematics assessment will be named NJSLA-M. The science exam is named NJSLA-S (administered to students in grades 5 and 8).
Given the continued threat of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our school communities and the resulting school closures, Governor Phil Murphy announced that the State of New Jersey cancelled all statewide student assessments for the spring 2020 testing window. This included the springtime administration of the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA).
