The NJ Department of Education has released the proposed Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) State Plan. ESSA replaces No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and aims to ensure that all students have equitable access to high-quality educational resources and opportunities, as well as to close educational achievement gaps. To facilitate understanding of New Jersey’s ESSA State Plan and to encourage additional input from various stakeholders, the NJDOE is requesting that everyone utilize the resources that have been provided to help understand this shift and to provide feedback on the plan.
